Contributing to Askables is fun, easy and profitable. You can take part by writing articles, adding your existing articles or answering questions.

You'll earn ongoing revenue for all your contributions as well as up-front cash payments for some*.
The more you contribute, the more you'll make.

As a contributor to Askables, you will be paid for your contribution by being given a share of revenue created by your content. The more active you are on the site, the higher the revenue share you receive.

Askables Experts receive an upfront payment per post as well as ongoing ad revenue. The payment depends on your expert level.

Shared revenue is ongoing and you will continue to receive a passive income from all your work, for the rest of time.

Payments per post are one-off payments, providing that the requirements below are satisifed for the month in which they were posted. Additionlly, per-post payment is for original contnet only. Determination of article elibility is at the descretion of Askables.

To help measure your knowledge contribution and expert activity on Askables, we use a basic level system. Everyone starts as a 'contributor' and works their way up towards being an 'expert'.

Levels are determined by points. Points are awarded every time you take an action on the site, from answering questions to writing articles to commenting on other peoples posts.

Once you reach the points required for a level, you will upgraded to that level automatically.

After reaching a level, you'll need to maintain a certain level of activity on the site to keep your level. This activity is measured in 'items' of activity, such as answering a question or writing an article.

How does the point system work?

Points are awarded for doing various things on the site, such as writing an answer.
Askables is very new and that the point system is going to be finely tuned over the next few months based on feedback from members, so we can get the points just right and award points fairly.

At the moment, the core points awarded are:

• Writing an ORIGINAL article: 60
• Adding an existing article: 5
• Adding an answer: 5
• Having answer selected as the best answer: 15
• Having answer selected as the best answer: 10

There are many other points as well, such as when you content gets rated up or down.
These numbers will be changing ever so slightly over the next month or two, as we watch and listen to feedback. Any points you've received till now, won't be reduced, but may increased, with these changes.

How do I get paid per post?

The payment per article, is a one off payment for EVERY article posted in a calendar month, providing the following criteria are met:

• You are of Expert or Top Expert status when writing the article.
• Over the calendar month in question, you have contributed enough articles/answers to maintain that level for that month. See: Levels.
• The article is ORIGINAL for Askables. This means the article cannot be published anywhere else on the web. After the month in question, you can republish Askables-original articles on your own blog, but not on other content syndication sites. I.e. Content can never be published on competin sites such as eHow or HubPages. Askables will check the originality and eligibilty of all original articles.

An Example
Jon is Expert level on Askables. In March he posts 6 original articles and contributes 5 answers. This means he has posted 11 items of original content and fulfilled the requirements to maintain his Expert status for that month.

In April, Jon receives payment from Askables, via PayPal, of USD $30 for his articles - that's 6 x $5 each. Plus, Jon receives on-going Ad revenue via his Google Publisher account (PayPal payments for Ad revenue are also possible)
