How would you settle a new pet mouse into its new surroundings?
asked 3 years ago
Mice are very resilient. Unless you have put it into a tank with other mice, he should settle in on his own. If you do have other mice, make sure to watch them, so he does not get picked on, or vice versa. If it is a male and young, with other males, it isn't a good idea to keep them together. The dominance factor will cause them to pick on the little one until he dies. You should also watch if the females are large. Just because it is a girl, doesn't mean they aren't dominant too. Hope this helps! Good Luck!!

Give him some tissue (or toilet paper) as bedding. Also, give him a generous amount of food, and keep the noise level down. Make sure no other pets (e.g. Cats!!!) get near him. Don't pick him up until you give him a few days to get used to his home sweet home. ;-)
