I think from experience that the idea of being consumed by wanting to be healthy and have a good body and be happy with myself stresses me out. Although, I feel wonderful when I eat healthy (both mentally and physically), I also feel just as good when I exercise. If an exercise regime or diet is causing you stress it kind of defeats the purpose. It shouldn't be a chore, more like a series of steps toward changing old habits. The reward should out weigh the sacrifices! II guess it depends how you look at it - & i think we often have super high (& unrealistic) expectations of ourselves! Life should be about sharing small moments & not sweating the small stuff & it's certainly too short to spend it stressed out & calorie counting!

A healthy balanced diet and regular exercise will help you manage and alleviate stress. Exercise can be a huge stress reliever & will improve sleep quality & increase energy levels. Often stress can be related to over tiredness & poor sleep patterns. Nutrition & exercise can help this.

Exercise is a natural mood elevator. You will feel better mentally and feel calmer. There are specific exercise that are designed to relieve stress such as yoga and tai chi. However, even aerobic activity should help alleviate anxiety. Some people may become obsessed with the feeling they get from exercising or they may actually have an eating disorder and feel they have to exercise as much as possible. As with everything moderation is key. Too much of anything is not good for you.

Nutrition and exercise both contribute and help manage stress. Eating adequate nutrition provide the body with the nutrients that helps the body to function well. Exercise increases cellular activities and increases the circulation of the blood.
