What might be good places to live when retired?

Many people like to go where it's warm, why? If you could choose freely, where would you live?

Hawaii is often chosen as a good vacation spot, but after taking a trip there this summer I believe it would be a great place to live. The weather is sunny all year long, plenty of attractions, and great food. There are plenty of places to consider, I believe Hawaii is definitely one of them.

Many people like to go where it's warm when they retire for a variety of reasons. If they are very fond of summer weather and beaches, or hate dealing with snow and cold in the winter, then of course warmer climates make sense. Also, as people age they tend to develop pooer circulation, which causes one to feel colder, especially in the extremities (hands, arms, feet, legs).

Where you move, or whether you move at all, is going to depend on many factors, including how much money you have in your retirement. Many people like to move to sunny destinations when they retire simply because they could never afford to before, or because they were tied down by their job. Proximity to family is also important - some people want to be very close to their families, while some don't mind being farther away. Some have no family at all, and are more likely to move wherever they like.

Personally, I would choose to stay in the Northeast, as I love the weather year round. I enjoy having 4 distinct seasons, I love the snow, and I can't stand very hot summer days. Of course, I am fairly young now so I may change my mind when I get closer to retirement age.

How about choosing a place that give u all the comfort and relaxation that you couldnt otherwise find in your work city. Like setteling to a place which offers you everything you had ever wanted to do but just couldnt take time out coz u were busy living for others and never got time out for yourself. If in India, how abt Goa, it offers you peace, beach, beer (cheaper than water :)), water sports, calm and serene. Or how about Mexico or Peurto Rico
