What can we do as people of the next generations to cut down gun violence? Do you feel that we can follow through?

Cutting down on gun violence will be just as difficult as stopping underage drinking or illegal drug use. Those are things that will simply always occur, and no matter how much or how little pressure we put on any of them, humans will always find a way. As for gun violence though, there are a series of idealistic approaches that we, as a generation, can take in the future.
First, we should increase officer presence in areas that appear to have more prominent cases of gun violence.
Second, we should make stricter gun laws. A simple background check and other procedures are easy for illegal gun traders to get by. A trader may go himself, or send another person who is able to bypass all of the procedures, buy guns, and then self them for a slightly higher price on city streets. Though I'm sure there are other methods of getting guns, I'm likely the least educated on the process of buying and selling illegal weaponry (so please excuse me if I sound a bit naive on the whole situation).
Third, we should install tracking devices into guns that allow us to find their exact location at all times. Those these would likely be overridden by clever criminals, it will discourage the younger and less resourceful criminals (those who don't have the ability to remove the trackers) to commit a crime, because the guns would be nearly impossible to hide if they are suspected. Imprints specific to the gun would be made on the bullet upon firing, and the bullet could be used to find the tracker implanted within the gun, which may ultimately lead to the criminal . Though, it would be far better if the trackers could also report when a particular gun was fired, in what location, etc. , making it easier for investigators.
Really, they are all extremely idealistic and likely illogical ways to cut down on gun violence, and I sincerely doubt that we will follow through as its not exactly at the top of our agenda at the moment, but still, they're nice to think about :)

Hi Chrissy,
I have never seen a gun in my life. I have heard that people are being shot dead. I think the best way to cut down gun violence is to install some best quality camera's everywhere and at the same time increase work force to serve the country and protect people from comitting violence.
