That's a tricky question. Some companies hire people part time in order to save money. They don't have to pay benefits or give holiday pay, or promise work outside the agreed to contract period.
When people work at home, they may expect to earn less than a full-time employee but when you need to cover your own taxes, your own health benefits, and when you don't get office supplies and need to pay for your utilites, etc. you need to be sure you're charging an adequate rate for your services. While it may not be the same pay scale as a typical employee, you need to look at your wage needs and your work-related expenses and ensure you charge accordingly so that you're not working for slave wages.
Cheers,
Dana
