I lead a busy lifestyle what with juggling work social commitments, I find there's very little time left for me. And when I do make time to sit read relax I find myself constantly up down, easily distracted finding something to do. How do I tune out switch off?!

Try a calming exercise, like meditation or yoga.
Alternatively, if you have trouble paying attention on just one thing at a time, you might be able to increase your concentration by multitasking just a little bit. Turn on music or the TV very quietly while you're reading; working to tune it out will help you focus on the book.

I'm exactly the same! I call myself a 'serial multi-tasker'!
At times I try to go 'acoustic' and entirely unplug from work or cleaning the house but I find I'm happiest when I'm busy. As long as you're feeling good and your loved ones aren't feeling neglected maybe you're doing ok as you are.
If you feel stressed or anxious all the time maybe you need to either: take up a really calming hobby that requires concentration, take a holiday and MAKE yourself relax, or get some help around the house/at work so that your workload is diminished and you can start to think about slowing down.
Best of luck!
Cheers,
Dana
