Which brand will you prefer Sony or Samsung
I was planning to buy a LCD TV and was wondering which TV would you suggest.
I heard Sony TV screens are made by Samsung themselves.

I recently bought an HD LCD Television, and I faced the same problem that you are facing, so I believe I can help you here.
If you do not have too big a budget then go for Samsung becasue picture quality, contrast ratio and color production of even the lower model of LCD TV produced by samsung is good, but this cannot be said about Sony.
Sony is jsut basking in the glory of its brand, and has nothing extraordianry to offer. If you compare features of LCD TV of both brands then you will see that even here Samsun outshines Sony.
Samsung according to me is a better choice.
