I'm not afraid of dogs or something like that, but when I come to my boyfriend's house his dog starts to bark towards me, so I don't want to get closer to him. how can I make him like me?

The fact that the dog barks at you doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't like you. If it shows other signs of aggression toward you then you should talk to your boyfriend about it. Many times the dog barks just a a reaction to the presence of someone new in his territory. My sister's dog does that every time I go to visit her, but 5 minutes later he is playing with me and won't leave me alone. Have you tried making friends with the dog? Try patting him, playing with him, maybe even bringing him a toy or a treat and letting him get to know you, and he will start treating you as one of the family.

If you bend down on your knee and act excited and happy to see the time each time you come, the dog with learn your smell and begin to be comfortable with you. Every dog is protective of their owner and it may take time to build a relationship, if you will. Dogs see it as unthreatening to stay in one spot and to put your hand down, allowing the dog to approach and smell as he/she whishes. And yes, treats are always loved by dogs. Usually, dogs feel about people as people feel about the dog. If you aren't afraid of the dog and you are sweet, friendly and respectful, chances are that the dog will return the feelings. Don't be afraid or turned off by the barking. Dogs like to hear themselves and some dogs just bark a lot for no reason at all.
