How to Create a Spa at Home

The spa experience is one that all of us truly enjoy or at least, want to enjoy. However, in today’s time, with the rush, schedules and general lack of time as well as money, it does become difficult to go to a really nice spa and soak in some much needed rest and relaxation.

 

So, does this mean, that going to the spa is out of the question and that your mind and body would always remain stressed and burnt-out? Well, the answer is, no. Simply because, if you can’t go to the spa, the spa can come to you. Yes, it is possible to create a home spa, right in your humble bathroom and enjoy the experience just as much.

 

The Time and Equipment for a Home Spa

 

To begin with, schedule your home spa treatment for a time when you know you wouldn’t be disturbed. Get a few essential oils, some olive or almond oil, a bottle of rich moisturizer and some sweet-smelling bath salts or bubble bath. Take out your best plush towels and robe.

 

Creating a Spa Ambience

 

The home spa ambience must be relaxing and soothing. Play some soft music so that it wafts into the bath. Make sure that the bath had been scrubbed clean earlier and that the floors are dry. Throw some soft foot mats around. Keep the air fragrant by burning some incense or using a diffuser. Light aromatic candles and throw some flower petals in the bath and on the floor.

 

The Home Spa Treatment

 

To make the most of your home spa treatment, use the following steps and enjoy the relaxation and calmness that fills your mind, body and soul.

 

·         Soak in the bath and begin by giving yourself a full body scrub.

·         Wash it away and then, use the olive or almond oil, blended with a few drops of essential oil,  to give yourself a full massage, concentrating on the pressure points.

·         Soak in the bath again, or take a shower and use a relaxing shower gel or bubble bath to wash away the oil. Savor the experience and don’t rush it. Stay calm and enjoy the flow of water and the aromas and fragrances of the oils and gels that fill the air.

·         Use the soft towels to dab yourself dry and then, gently, massage in the moisturizers or body lotion.

 

Make the home spa treatment a fortnightly affair and you would see the difference in your skin, body and mood. It will not just make you look better but also make you feel amazing. You would have the energy and enthusiasm needed to meet life’s challenges and look great too. So, do give yourself the pleasure of a home spa treatment and then, sit back and enjoy the compliments.
