Financial Independence through Adsense

Everybody wants to be independent, both intellectually and financially.  With today’s economy the former is easy but the latter might be very difficult!  It’s tough to be financially independent when you’ve just lost your job or your company has closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy.  It’s important, however, not to give up.  Even if there are no jobs in your area or city there are other ways to earn enough money to pay the bills and you could even earn enough to do much more than that!

Beth, a legal studies student, was doing well with a part time job and supplemental income from her parents.pacerun:yes">  In what seemed a move out of the blue, the major coffee café chain she worked for closed over half their outlets and hers was one of them.  Finding herself without a part time job to help pay tuition and other college expenses, she knew she had to find a way to generate some income.  It certainly couldn’t be a conventional part time job, as most of the businesses in her college town were closing or downsizing.

After much discussion among her friends, Beth decided to try earning some money online.  She had a computer of her own and no longer had a job so there was time to investigate the types of work the online world offered.  What she found there was rather shocking, however, and she narrowly avoided being scammed several times before she found Google’s AdSense program.

Beth found that AdSense is a great way to earn money online.  She particularly liked the fact that she wasn’t deceiving anyone with a questionable product or trying to convince them to buy into a tiered marketing system where there are only a few real winners.  AdSense turned out to be a legitimate product of Google, the world’s most popular search engine.  All that Beth had to do was build one or more blogs or websites around something that she was interested in—in her case, it was her legal studies.  She shared ways of making them easier and listed resources other students would find helpful.

Next, Beth made sure that she inserted the AdSense code on her page that would fetch appropriate ads from Google to be displayed on her pages every time someone visited.  The web surfer would only see ads of interest to them that were related to the content of the pages they were reading.

With every ad that was directed to her pages, Beth would receive payment.  She quickly learned that if her content was interesting she would have more visitors and thus, more earnings from AdSense.  Within a short period of time, Beth was making more money than she had at the coffee shop!

Soon, Beth was also able to tell her parents they could stop sending money to help her through college.  With AdSense she could make as much or as little as she wanted or needed, depending on how much time she devoted to improving or adding to the content of her websites and blogs.  A few minutes a day proved enough for Beth to put herself through college as well as putting aside funds for a financial cushion to insure she’d never be caught short again.
