Once you are signed up with an account at Askables, you are free to submit an article.
Simply login in to your account, and click on "write".
Content should be original. Explore posts on your chosen topic to check if a similar article has been posted already.
Providing a title for your will increase it’s chances of being found in search. The best titles are usually short, simple and clear. Use keywords that someone would put into the search box if they were looking for it.
Create the body of your post using the text editor provided. You should maintain correct spelling throughout your article. A quick use of spellcheck always helps. Take the same care with simple grammar and punctuation and try to sustain a good quality of English.
Choosing a category for your article helps other people to find it. Select the most appropriate category using the drop down menu. If you are uncertain of which category your article fits best, selecting the “General” option will suffice.
You can add an image to your article if you wish.
External links are permitted.
Save your draft and click on “preview” . The preview screen shows your article as it will appear on the site. This is a good time to proof read your post and double check the formatting.
If you are satisfied with the final product, you can "Publish" your article.
Approval
If youre user account is newly created, the first few posts will need to be approved by the admin team before being shown on the site. This means they won't appear to anyone else but you right away. As soon as they are approved, they'll be shown to the world. After the first few posts have been approved, all future posts will be published immediately and won't require approval.
Tips
Try to avoid using ALL CAPS in your titles.
There are options for Heading and Subheading in the editors toolbar.
Avoid large blocks of text. Paragraphing your text will make it easier for others to read.
Using bullet points or numbered lists may be useful to display some information.
Managing your articles
All your articles are stored in “My Stuff”. Here you can search and view all your articles - drafts, published, removed and those awaiting approval.
To view a post simply click on the title.
You can search your articles by category or status or by typing in the search box.
Editing an article
If you would like to edit a drafted article, click on the "drafts" tab. Once you have located the article click the "Edit" bar on the right hand side. Once you have completed your changes you can either save it as draft or submit it for approval.
