If you're looking to get traffic, grab attention, and earn money from your Askables articles... follow these tips:

Capitalization of Titles

There are differing opinions on proper capitalization of titles, depending on writing style, but a good rule of thumb to use here on Askables.com  is:

Capitalize Every word in your title except prepositions (words such as: of, the, with) unless the preposition is the first or last word of the title. Proper capitalization helps give your article credibility and if everything on the site is fairly uniform it improves the credibility of Askables.com as a reputable online source of expert advice.

Attention Grabbing Headline

Think of your title as a headline. If you were browsing the site, what would grab your attention? Short titles work well for search engine optimisation purposes and for grabbing the attention of people that land on the page. Great titles also have better chance of being featured on the front page, too. Getting featured can help you make more money with your articles.

Photos

Wherever possible, use photos in your article. These add to the impact and can grab the attention of viewers. Be careful to properly credit photos where required. Have you noticed that we have a "featured article" section here? All those articles have pictures so increase your potential exposure by adding a suitable snapshot.

Subheadings

Subheadings help break up text and work especially well for:

  • magazines,
  • newspapers,
  • and web articles

Bold your subheadings to draw attention to them as well. Consider using:

  • numbered lists,
  • bullet points,
  • and fonts for emphasis

Categories

Be sure to choose a suitable category for your article. We're planning to add more categories soon, so if you need to choose a temporary category to get your article published, be sure to check back often to see if new categories have been added. You can revise categories after an article has been published.

Tags

Tag your article with several relevant keywords that relate to the topic of your article. Tags help people find your articles and help search engines determine what your article is about. This can equate to more people seeing your articles and possibly more revenue.

Links

If you've written a related article here on Askables, why not link to it? That'll give your reader something else to click to.  Feel free to also click to a reliable resource outside this site as well but please refrain from putting affiliate links in your articles.

Quality

Beyond making your article look good, you want it to read well also We reward our writers for quality and quantity here at Askables but quality is job #1. Provide helpful and valuable information to your reader and they may: share your article with someone else, rate your article up (which equals more points for you), leave a helpful comment, or act on that article in a way that earns you revenue.
