Why Pets Are Important

Pets are our companions. When we are alone, they keep us company. For someone with so many friends or house mates, the importance of pets may not seem evident.

But to someone who lives alone in a lonely apartment  in the suburbs, your pet can be your best friend, may it be a dog, a cat, a fish, or even a rat. 

According to some belief, pets especially fishes actually catches diseases or illnesses for you. Meaning, instead of you getting sick, the pets get sick themselves instead so that their masters will not get sick. Anyway it's just some phenomenon with no scientific basis.

For the elderly, dogs are the best companions. But don't take in untrained ones as it will just cause havoc. Have your pet trained by a professional and you'll really love your pet unlike any other. 

Pets may look just like some dumb animal because, well, they are lower animals. But try to have them trained and you'll be amazed on what they are capable of. Even fishes can be trained! 

Because your pets give you company, and cherishes you when you're alone, take good care of them. Here's a list on how to take good care of them:

1) Give them proper training and discipline

2) Feed them twice a day. Thrice is too much, once is too less.

3) When you try to correct them or scold them, NEVER EVER mention their name in it. Or they will develop a phobia in their name. You wouldn't want your pet to run away when you call their name, right?

4) Don't try to spoil them as it will just ruin their personality.

5) Give them a mate! If it's a male dog, give him a bitch. Or if it's a fish, put lots of fishes in the aquarium! The point is, make your pets socialize with others of their kind too.
